Historical background
The Ship was created in the GDR in 1959. It is included in the widely known project 588. In the framework of shipbuilding for Russia was in the period from 1953 to 1961. And was initially built 11 vessels. Then in the project documentation have been made a number of changes: the revised planning characteristics passenger cabins, dimensions, add-ins and some technical data. After that, the world saw another 38 vessels, including the ship «Timiryazev, K. A.”, which is the namesake of a Russian scientist, studied the physiological characteristics of plants and photosynthesis.
After the distillation of the shipyards of Germany to Russia, the ship was handed over to Volga shipping company and assigned to Astrakhan. After quite a successful operation for four decades it was sold to companies engaged in tourist and commercial activities. His cruise direction with the release of Astrakhan was Volgograd, Samara, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov–on–don, Perm, Ribinsk.

From 2013 to 2016, the ship was not maintained and was put up for sale. New owner – TK "White Swan" port – Nizhny Novgorod. Then the ship was slightly reconstructed. From April 2017, it again went on a cruise.
