Introduction to the cruise

The Delfin I takes your holiday in the Amazon a step beyond what you have imagined is possible. This Relais & Chateaux boutique ship has just four cabins for 8-12 fortunate guests (futons are available for triple occupancy in each cabin), yet at 67-feet, this is no small boat. With oversized suites and decadent amenities, you will experience the utmost luxury and comfort.
Life On Board
The smartly appointed interior spaces and suites aboard the Delfin I, featuring warm wood tones and airy fabrics, create an ambiance of casual sophistication. But, you haven’t come to the Amazon to see the interior of a boat. Rather than enclosing you, the Delfin I brings the outdoors in with panoramic windows throughout the ship and private terraces in every suite.
For an extra treat, book a Deluxe Master Suite on the lower deck with a whirlpool on the patio, where you can soak as you cruise down the river. By day, the covered observation deck is the perfect place to watch for wildlife while also escaping the sun. At night, return with a glass of wine and listen to the nocturnal sounds of the jungle.
Exciting Excursions
Departing from Nauta, both the four- and five-day cruises offer unforgettable experiences, led by an expert naturalist guide, along the Marañon and Ucayali Rivers in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. In the Amazon Natural Park, get a new perspective from the treetop on a canopy walk 85-feet above the rainforest floor. You may also take a skiff ride in the waters of the Amazon basin in hopes of seeing the area’s famous pink river dolphins. In the village of Yachay, which received only a handful of outside visitors, spend time with Carola, the local Shaman. She will speak with you about her role as the spiritual guide and healer for the local community.
You may also have opportunities to visit a local schoolhouse, take night walks in the rainforest, and kayak along the river. The rainforest wakes up early, and a daybreak skiff ride at Las Palmas will introduce you to the many parrots and other bird species in the area. You may even spot a sloth or two. Before you depart, a final visit to the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals is sure to be another highlight of the trip.
Unparalleled Service
While aboard the Delfin I, you will enjoy a level of service that is simply not possible on a larger ship. While you are out exploring, your suite will be serviced three times each day, so you will always have a fresh space to relax in. In the evening, use the ship’s intercom to request a romantic candlelight dinner for two on your terrace. The boat also has an open-bridge policy, so you can stop by the wheelhouse to chat with the captain and learn about the navigational systems.
With generously-sized suites – so big in fact that triple occupancy is available using the futons – five-star cuisine, and a well-stocked bar make the Delfin I an ideal choice for honeymooners and couples celebrating a lifetime of love. Travelers looking to combine the wilds of the Amazon with the highest levels of comfort are sure to delight in the Delfin I.
