Introduction to the cruise

New in the program is the Johann Strauss. This premium ship, named after the world-famous Austrian composer of the Viennese Waltz, offers comfort of the highest quality.
On board there is a lobby/reception, a panoramic lounge with a bar, a panoramic restaurant and a library. The spacious sun deck is equipped with awnings, seating areas and sunbeds. There is enough space for passengers to relax in peace. The front part of the sundeck is lower than the rear part and can therefore remain open even during low bridge passages.
More information about the Johann Strauss can be found below. If you have any questions after reading this information, please let us know. Our employees are available six days a week!

The different decks are connected by a staircase. The Johann Strauss has a stair lift.

The ship offers different types of cabins, all of which are spacious and well thought-out. The Deluxe cabins (15m2) and Suites (19.5m2) on the Upper Deck have French balconies with sliding doors. On the Middle Deck, the Deluxe cabins (15m2) and Suites (18m2) have large panoramic windows that can be opened. The Junior suites (18m2) and Standard cabins (15m2) have windows with panoramic views that cannot be opened. The cabins on the Lower Deck are somewhat smaller (12m2) and have a fixed (slightly higher) window that cannot be opened. All cabins are equipped with a luxurious bathroom, shower and toilet, manual air conditioning, flat screen TV, hairdryer, telephone and sufficient cupboard space. With the exception of the Lower Deck cabins, your accommodation is equipped with two single beds that can be separated upon request. The cabins on the Lower Deck have two separate single beds.

The day starts with an extensive breakfast. Early birds can sit down for the ‘early riser breakfast’. At noon you will enjoy a delicious lunch and during dinner you will be amazed by the culinary delights that the chef de cuisine has prepared for you.

We book refreshments, excursions and souvenirs on board using your cabin number, so that you can pay for everything in cash or by credit card at the end of your trip.
The crew on board the ships consists of different nationalities. There is always a Dutch-speaking hotel manager and/or cruise director present and we try to ensure that there is always a Dutch-speaking crew member nearby who can speak to you in Dutch.
Free WiFi in the lounge, bar and hall (limited reception).
Owner of the MPS Johann Strauss and operator of the voyages with this ship is Starling Fleet in Basel.
