Since the summer of 2006, Göta II has been involved in freight traffic from Fiskebäck to the southern archipelago.The ferry was built in 1969 at Åsiverken in Åmål under the name Nordö II for Öckerö municipality's then traffic from Hälsö to Rörö for passengers and cars.The Swedish Road Administration's ferry company took over the traffic and the ferry in 2000 and the ferry was bought in 2005 by Styrsöbolaget.It was then rebuilt at Djupviks Varv into a combined car and cargo ferry with covered spaces for goods and cold rooms for food.Loading and unloading takes place with forklifts via the bow ramp.Göta II is 30.03 m long and 8.57 m wide.The hull is built in steel and ice-classed.In the fall of 2014, a new Caterpillar 3508C engine of 862 hp (634 kW) was installed, which was supplemented with SCR exhaust gas treatment and particulate filter.The engine drives an adjustable propeller made by Berg.The speed is 11.5 knots.
